MOVIES THAT PROMOTE CHRISTIAN VALUES (assembled by Fred Miller)

This is a personal list of movies that significantly promote Christian values such as forgiveness, understanding, self-giving love, reconciliation, redemption, self-understanding, and character growth. It’s my desire that this list will provide options for Christians in selecting entertainment that will assist their discipleship to Jesus. It is, of course, sometimes necessary to make an evaluation about whether a movie’s offensive elements outweigh any moral values portrayed by the end of the movie (and thus whether it should be on a list like this), and this is a matter of individual judgment, especially regarding R-rated movies. Christian movie review sites (below) provide more extensive discussions of a movie’s moral presentations, as well as descriptions of genre (drama, comedy, action, etc.) and plot. It should be noted that these sites use varying criteria for their “stars” rating, and I have often found “high-star” movies too objectionable, and “low-star” movies worthwhile. I have restricted my descriptions below to one line, but this often fails to capture the value and heart of the movie. For further review and description, see Christian perspective movie review sites such as the following, or a generic site like www.rottentomatoes.com   ●  http://www.pluggedinonline.com/video/
http://www.christianitytoday.com/ct/movies/reviews/    ● http://www.christiananswers.net/spotlight/
Underlined movies are those I have added to my list over the last year or two, which may be of interest to people who visit this list on a regular basis.
